Photo: Katja Kulenkampff Choreographer Jordan Fuchs returns to Danspace Project with Thicket, his third evening-length collaboration of sound and movement with composer Andy Russ. Performed in the round, Thicket explores an environment that grows denser with the entanglements of human interactions -- a glance, an embrace, a memory -- as four dancers ply the border between intimacy and abstraction, and between the physical and the ephemeral. Thrust into the dancer's world through the wearing of headphones, the audience becomes an inhabitant of this dynamic, hyper-real and surreal environment, where the visual and aural dislocate. Created and performed in collaboration with Toby Billowitz, Megan Boyd, and Storme Sundberg, Thicket will feature lighting design by Carol Mullins and costumes by Joy Havens.

"… voluptuous extensions and turns gave way to muscular, knotty lifts and balances."
The New York Times

Thicket is made possible, in part, with funds from the Danspace Project 2007-2008 Commissioning Initiative with support from the Jerome Foundation. Additional funding has been provided by The New York State Music Fund, established by the New York State Attorney General at Rockefeller Philanthropy Advisors.
