This season we are launching a new initiative, PLATFORMS 2010, a series of guest curated programs as part of a research project entitled "Choreographic Center Without Walls" (CW2), made possible with support from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

PLATFORM 2010: i get lost is an extension of choreographer and multi-media artist Ralph Lemon's research into trance, kinetic energy and alternative states of consciousness in contemporary performance and dance contexts. Lemon has written that his platform attempts to address 'the culturalization of spirit, and how artists perform the element of spirit through a particular cultural lens.'

Lemon has invited acclaimed choreographer and improviser David Zambrano to perform Soul Project, a piece inspired by the music and voices of soul singers Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Al Green and others. He has also commissioned four artists, including solo works by Judith Sanchez Ruiz and Souleymane Badolo and a first-ever duet by the provocative performance artist Robert Steijn and New York-based choreographer Maria Hassabi (to premiere in April 2010).
