ACADEMY DANCES
" This could be the best ten dollars you’ve ever spent. " Gia Kourlas Time Out New York (Academy Dances 2008, Hollins University)
Danspace Project presents Academy Dances, an annual series showcasing emerging and alum dance-makers and dance-artists from renowned college and university dance programs. This year, New York University’s Tisch Dance moves three blocks up 2nd Avenue to Danspace Project at St. Mark’s to perform Northern Exposure, a presentation of works choreographed and performed by BFA and MFA students and faculty.
NYU Tisch Dance Department’s weekend run will include work by current student choreographers as well as work by NYU faculty members.The lighting designer for the evening will be Carol Mullins.
Over the three-day run, twelve works will be rotated in repertory:

Years Later -- choreographed and performed by Gus Solomons jr
Behind Closed Eyes -- choreographed by Emily Watson
Snap Shots -- choreographed by Cherylyn Lavagnino

Welcome to Legwork -- written, choreographed and performed by James Sutton
Kubla Khan -- choreographed by Taryn Vander Hoop
Silly Rabbit -- choreographed and performed by Simone Sobers
MOMENTary CONVICTion -- choreographed by Joanna Taubeneck
