This is what I've been craving..." - The Village Voice A collaboration between choreographer Kate Weare, composer Michel Galante and designers Kurt Perschke and Brian Jones, Lean-to offers a sensitive glimpse into issues of interdependence, self-awareness, and trust. Weare builds a movement language based on leaning with an original score played live by composer Michel Galante and his award-winning new music group, Argento Chamber Ensemble. Bridge of Sighs explores the reckless and wise instincts that drive us upstream toward love, in the process exhausting, softening and remaking us into who we are meant to become. Bridge of Sighs was co-commissioned by Jacob?s Pillow Dance through its Creative Development Residency Program, and developed in part through a Choreographic Fellowship at The Maggie Allesee National Center for Choreography at Florida State University, and an Artist-in-Residency at Dance New Amsterdam.
